ARRIVEDERCI: Giulia MyStar Stardom Photobook Review

ARRIVEDERCI: Giulia Cover

Starting in late 2018, Stardom began a new photobook series called MyStar with their top wrestlers getting their own smaller photobook all to themselves. Giulia is the 15th to be featured in the series, following Mayu Iwatani, Starlight Kid, Hazuki, Jungle Kyona, Momo Watanabe, Utami Hayashishita, Arisa Hoshiki, Saki Kashima, Hana Kimura, Yurie Kozakai, Tam Nakano, Tokyo Cyber Squad, AZM, and Itsuki Hoshino/Saya Kamitani. You can read reviews for all the MyStar Series photobooks released so far on the Joshi Photobook Reviews page.

As mentioned above, these are smaller (and cheaper) photobooks than Stardom usually puts out, however that does not mean the quality of the photobook is negatively impacted. Stardom at this point has become almost as good at producing photobooks as they are at producing wrestling shows, and the effort put into this photobook shows this. Even though most of the photobooks feature single wrestler, there are still multiple scenes/scenarios presented that fit the personality of the wrestler so its not just random scenes chosen at the whim of the photographer.

The Joshi World was shocked when Giulia suddenly left Ice Ribbon for Stardom in the fall of 2019, and Stardom wasted no time putting out a photobook for their newest wrestler. Giulia had a couple months off from wrestling as she transitioned between promotions, giving her plenty of time to complete this photoshoot. As far as quality goes, this is one of the better books in the MyStar series. While Giulia certainly has the look to pull off modeling pictures, Stardom went beyond the usual effort with a wide variety of shot locations and attires ranging from casual to lingerie. It even includes a couple pictures of her in her wrestling attire, even though she had never wrestled for Stardom at the point the photobook was being created. While I am not sure if this is the end of the MyStar series, if it is they certainly ended it with a bang. Here is a sample of pictures from the photobook:
