Stardom Guide Book Vol 129 Cover

For just about every tour for many years, Stardom has released a guide book that gives recent Stardom news and updated profiles for the promotion. As I get in the guide books, I’ll give a quick review of them plus provide some pictures. You can read reviews for more photobooks on the Joshi Photobook Reviews page.

This guide book was released towards the beginning of 2020 and has a completely up to date roster as of the start of the year. The ‘feature article’ features a brief interview with Arisa Hoshiki and Mayu Iwatani. Volume 129 also includes pictures showing some of the wrestlers’ signature moves as well as a few pages on the most recent news to come out of the promotion. This guide book was created before the formation of Donna del Mondo and also before Bea Priestley and Saki Kashima joined to Oedo Tai, so as is always the case with monthly guide books they can become out of date very quickly. Since its inception, Stardom has released guide books periodically to highlight their most recent tour, provide profiles for their wrestlers, and offer general information about the promotion. In October of 2017, Stardom celebrated its 100th guide book with a special longer edition with even more pictures than their standard guide books.

The Stardom Guide Books are broken up into different sections, the 100th Edition features the following:

  • Current Champions
  • Goddesses of Stardom Tag League Preview
  • Profiles for the top Stardom wrestlers (two pages per wrestler)
  • Profiles for Invading Gaijin (for the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League Tour)
  • Smaller profiles for the younger Stardom wrestlers
  • Special “Stardom Photo Album” section with modeling pictures of Stardom wrestlers

Even though the guide books are designed with their local fans in mind, it has a lot of great pictures of the Stardom wrestlers so even those that don’t understand Japanese will get their money’s worth. Here is a preview of some of the pictures:
